A Taste Of The Mekong Delta

Arrive at the Can Tho International Airport and transfer to Victoria Can Tho Resort with the afternoon at your leisure. Relax by the resort’s two swimming pools, indulge in a spa treatment, explore the town, or go on an excursion. In the evening, enjoy a sophisticated Vietnamese set dinner at Spices Restaurant, overlooking the Hau River.

Rise early and board the Mekong Princess for a morning river cruise. Enjoy a gourmet breakfast as the boat cruises to the Cai Rang Floating Market, famous for its colourful boats laden with produce from the region.

Day-2
The lively trading makes for excellent photos as the boat manoeuvres to show you these timeless scenes from several different angles.

Continue cruising for more scenes of country living, going ashore to view the traditional process of making “hu tieu” rice noodles as well as a stroll through a fruit orchard, two specialties of the Mekong Delta.

Return to the resort at around lunchtime with the afternoon at your leisure. The city of Can Tho with its excellent museums and dining options is just a 10-minute walk away via a pedestrian bridge or by complimentary resort boat shuttle.

Overnight at Victoria Can Tho Resort.

After a leisurely breakfast, board your sampan at the Victoria Can Tho Resort jetty. Sip on tea and sample tropical seasonal fruit as you begin cruising the waterways of the Mekong Delta, observing villagers going about their daily activities against picturesque landscapes including floating houses and barges laden with produce from the Delta.

Day-3
Lunch is served on board with the mighty Hau River as a backdrop, one of the two largest arms of the Mekong.

Transfer to a small rowboat to better explore the beautiful waterways and peaceful villages of the area. Visit the historic house featured in “The Lover”, the acclaimed novel and film by Marguerite Duras.

Enjoy a homecooked dinner in a local home before overnighting aboard the Song Xanh as it’s moored on the Tien River.

Day-4
Begin cruising in the early morning hours, just as the villages begin to stir. After a leisurely breakfast on board, head ashore to explore a colourful temple celebrating Vietnam’s homegrown religion of Caodaism, as well as a traditional clay brick factory. Arrive in Cai Be, and see how local products like rice and coconuts are turned into tasty snacks.

Our cruise ends at Le Longanier Restaurant, an exquisite colonial-style villa set in lush tropical fruit and flower gardens. Enjoy a beautifully prepared lunch in this elegant riverside setting, a throwback to the relaxed glamour of Indochinese times.

Day-4—2
Option 1:

​After lunch, transfer to Saigon by car, arriving late afternoon.

Option 2:

After lunch, transfer back to Can Tho for your onward flight.
